What share of your CSS is really your design system?

Give designlang a URL and it reads the page and its stylesheets, compares the tokens that are declared with the values that are painted, and returns one score out of 100, a ranked consolidation plan and, on Pro, a trend line.

How it works

From a saved project to a result, in four steps.

  1. Declared against painted

designlang reads the CSS variables a site declares and the colours, spacing, radii and type values its rules actually use.

  2. Score each category

The score covers token coverage per category, near-duplicate values and hotspots, and lists the hardcoded values behind each part.

  3. Rank the fixes

Merges and replacements are listed by how many rules they touch, with a before and after estimate of the score.

  4. Track it

Pro keeps every score in your account so the trend shows when a regression lands. A project tab and a report page share the same data.

Where it helps

Design system teams

Put a number on adoption instead of arguing about it.

Agencies

Open an audit with a score and a plan for the first month.

Engineering leads

Re-scan after a release and see whether the score moved.

Limits. The score reads stylesheets and the HTML it can reach from a public address, not code behind a login. Pro adds saved history, report pages and the cleanup pull request. A pull request is a draft on a repository you connect, and nothing is merged for you.

Questions, answered

Can I use the Design Debt Score now?
Yes. Run designlang debt <url> in the free CLI, or open /debt on the website. A scan costs 1 credit there.
What does Pro add?
Saved scores with a trend, report pages you can send, a project tab, and a draft pull request that applies the consolidation plan to a connected GitHub repository (3 credits).
Will it change my code?
Only if you ask for a pull request. It opens a draft for you to review, and repository tokens are stored encrypted.
How do you avoid a made-up number?
The score is a formula over measured values, and each part lists the values behind it.
